Newcastle talent Longstaff shined for Blackpool last season.

The 20-year-old was loaned to League One side Blackpool last summer, and featured in all but four of the Tangerines’ 46 third-tier outings. From midfield, he scored eight goals and laid on five assists.

Longstaff was loaned out by The Toon in January 2017 to Kilmarnock, where he scored three goals in 16 Scottish Premiership appearances and continued that form at Blackpool.

The youngster is yet to make his senior debut for Newcastle, but has been a regular feature of the club’s Under-23 side as a teenager before going on loan – scoring eight goals in 33 games for The Toon’s second string.
Newcastle have plenty of midfield options ahead of Longstaff, with the likes of Jonjo Shelvey, Mo Diame, Isaac Hayden, Mikel Merino, Jack Colback and Henri Saivet all ahead of the youngster in the pecking order.
