Newcastle United are willing to sell Aleksandar Mitrovic – provided that they have his replacement lined up.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Newcastle are willing to listen to offers for striker Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer – but only if they are certain that they have got a replacement.
The 22-year-old has endured a mixed time since arriving at St James’ Park back in 2015. While he has not been the most prolific in front of goal, and has had his issues with discipline, he is a popular player with some of the Magpies supporters due to his work-rate.

However, as Rafa Benitez’s men prepare for their return to the Premier League, the Newcastle boss is ready to potentially sanction the Serbia international’s exit this summer – but only on one condition.
The Telegraph reports that signing a new striker is Benitez’s priority for the remaining weeks of the window, and that need to add to their ranks up top will arguably increase if they sell Mitrovic.
Therefore, The Telegraph has suggested that Mitrovic will only be allowed to leave if the Magpies are certain that they have a new forward coming in to rival the likes of Dwight Gayle and Ayoze Perez.
With the lack of options up front currently, Newcastle will surely be hoping that Benitez perhaps has eyes for two new strikers if Mitrovic is going to be allowed to leave to ensure that they have enough depth.
Whether that is a realistic target however, perhaps remains to be seen.
