Eintracht Frankfurt are ready to slap a big asking price on Sebastien Haller.
According to newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Eintracht Frankfurt want up to €30million (£26million) for Newcastle United target Sebastien Haller – whilst it’s added that Tottenham Hotspur are also keen.
Haller, 24, joined Frankfurt from Utrecht in 2017, having hit 55 goals in 102 games for the Dutch club, and he enjoyed a strong first season in Germany with 13 goals.
This term though, Haller is on fire. The Frenchman has hit eight goals and seven assists in just 13 games this season, becoming one of the top strikers in the Bundesliga.
With great strength and aerial ability, Haller is the prototypical target man, and he is a man in demand ahead of the January transfer window.
The Northern Echo recently claimed that Haller is Rafael Benitez’s number one target for the January transfer window, as Newcastle desperately look for a centre forward who can actually score regularly.
However, FAZ not only report that Tottenham Hotspur are also lurking with their own interest in Haller, but also that Frankfurt value their hitman at around €30million, or £26million.
That asking price would force Newcastle to shatter their transfer record, which still stands at £16million, and that seems highly unlikely with Mike Ashley still at the helm, which may just allow Spurs to nip in.
