Newcastle United, Burnley and West Brom are queuing up to sign highly-rated attacker Kieron Evans from Championship promotion-chasers Cardiff City, as reported by Wales Online.

A gruelling play-off push might not be the ideal environment for a 19-year-old to develop but, given that the teenager is held in such high regard behind the scenes in South Wales, it would not be all that surprising to see Evans make a first-team debut in the coming weeks.

The Wales youth star has made a huge impression for Cardiff’s U23 side this season, producing a goal and an assist in last week’s 3-0 thrashing of Millwall.

It seems that Evans already has a glut of Premier League clubs making notes on his potential.

Newcastle, Burnley, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United are all allegedly interested in the versatile attacker, although Cardiff have no interest in selling the jewel in their academy crown any time soon.

According to Wales Online, Evans was the top scorer for the Bluebirds’ U18 side last season and made a real impression when called up to join in first-team training.

You would think, then, that the two-footed forward would be better off sticking around at a club who obviously think very highly of him.

After all, a move to Newcastle, Burnley or West Brom would require Evans to prove himself all over again.
