According to The Mirror, Newcastle United are in the race to sign Liverpool striker Divock Origi.
It’s claimed that Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion and Fulham are interested, but Newcastle are in the race too.
The Magpies just signed a striker in Callum Wilson, but Steve Bruce may still be keen to add one more goalscoring threat.
Newcastle do also have Joelinton and Andy Carroll, though Yoshinori Muto is expected to leave and Dwight Gayle is out injured.
Origi could add another valuable attacking threat to Bruce’s side, especially if he sticks with the 4-4-2 he used at West Ham United on Saturday.
Origi, 25, only managed seven Premier League starts for Liverpool last season, but hid score four goals in his 28 top-flight appearances.

The Belgian needs first-team football, and it just isn’t going to come at Liverpool, so maybe Newcastle will be appealing to him.
It’s hard to see Newcastle splashing the cash on another striker, and whether Liverpool would be interested in a loan deal remains to be seen, meaning this one could be a tricky pursuit for the Magpies.
