According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United are interested in signing Hull City talent Jacob Greaves.
It’s claimed that a number of Championship clubs are interested in signing Greaves, but he could end up making a Premier League move.
Newcastle are thought to be pursuing his signature, having been impressed with his progress in League one this season.
The 20-year-old has come up through the Hull ranks, and is the son of former Tigers defender Mark Greaves.
Greaves spent time on loan at Cheltenham Town last season, but has been thrust into first-team action by Grant McCann this season.
Primarily a centre back, Greaves is particularly appealing given that he is left-footed, with left-footed centre backs like gold dust in the modern game.

In fact, Greaves told BBC Sport last year that he wants to be like Manchester City’s left-footed centre back Aymeric Laporte, who cost £57million in 2018.
Greaves would cost nowhere near that amount, and Newcastle would be hoping to get him in early and develop him up to Laporte’s level, which would be quite the move from the Magpies.
