According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are keen on signing Leeds United attacker Tyler Roberts.
It’s claimed that Steve Bruce and co are interested in luring Roberts up to St James’ Park at the end of the season.
Roberts has just one year left on his Leeds deal, and Newcastle are seemingly looking to pounce with a cash bid.
However, Leeds would still want around £10million for Roberts, with the Whites seemingly in no mood to cash in on the cheap.
That’s around four times what Leeds paid to sign Roberts from West Bromwich Albion in 2018, slapping a big asking price on him despite his contract situation.
That price could be too high for Newcastle, who have a tight budget and may have been hoping to land Roberts in a cut-price move.

Leeds are believed to have offered Roberts a new long-term deal, though he has to sign that as his future remains somewhat up in the air.
Roberts has made 25 appearances for Leeds this season but has yet to score in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has still impressed, providing energy and guile in a number 10 role.
Jermaine Beckford recently called him ‘brilliant’, and Leeds will seemingly do whatever they can to make sure he doesn’t become a Newcastle player this summer.
