Newcastle United are likely to offload Matz Sels this summer.

According to Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure, Newcastle United are hoping to sell Matz Sels to an English club, though Anderlecht would like to keep him.
The Magpies swooped to land Sels from Gent in the summer of 2016, with the Belgian seemingly brought in to supplant Karl Darlow as Newcastle’s first-choice goalkeeper.
However, Sels made just a handful of appearances before being replaced by Darlow and Rob Elliot, meaning Benitez sent him out on loan to Anderlecht last summer, just a year after paying £5million to land him (BBC Sport).

Sels has spent the year playing regularly, and whilst La Derniere Heure report that Anderlecht want to keep the goalkeeper, Newcastle would like to sell to an English club.
Wishful thinking?
Many clubs around the world will be hoping to sell players to English clubs given the money teams have at their disposal, but Newcastle may be guilty of wishful thinking here.

Sels struggled in the Championship last season, and was dropped after a number of mistakes as well as appearing physically unsuitable for English football.
It seems unlikely that an English club will have seen Sels’ displays for Newcastle and want to invest considerable money in him, given that Newcastle will surely want to recoup a major chunk of their outlay.
Anderlecht may not be able to sign Sels permanently, but another loan move could work for all parties if Newcastle can’t find a buyer this summer.
