According to The Chronicle, Newcastle are hoping to sell Achraf Lazaar in January and he ‘can’t wait’ to leave St James’ Park.
The full-back’s contract with the Magpies expires at the end of the season, and it is highly unlikely that he will be offered fresh terms after four-and-a-half unsuccessful years.
The Morocco international missed out on a place in Steve Bruce’s 25-man Premier League squad, and has been frozen out by the ex-Sunderland boss on Tyneside.
Since arriving from Palermo for £2 million, the 28-year-old has spent time on loan with Benevento, Sheffield Wednesday and Cosenza.
However, none of these clubs decided to sign him permanently.

Lazaar has made just three appearances in the Premier League 2 this season, as Jamal Lewis, Paul Dummett and Matt Ritchie occupy the left-back pecking order in the first-team.
In fact, it was Dummett who he failed to dislodge from Rafa Benitez’s first-team in the Championship.
Following promotion, the Spaniard then deemed the Moroccan surplus to requirements as The Chronicle state.

Speaking to Passione Inter (via The Chronicle), the Casablanca-born defender said: ‘I have so many goals in my drawer, but I keep them to myself
‘One of those is that I would like to take back everything I have lost in the last few years.
‘I know I have lost something but I have also gained a lot, I have learned a lesson in life and experience and I can’t wait to start a new challenge.’
In total, Lazaar has only made ten appearances for the Magpies since his 2016 summer arrival, which tells you everything you need to know.
