Newcastle United will reportedly have to offer more than double what they currently hope to pay for right-back Emil Krafth.

According to a report from The Sun, Newcastle hope to pay just £1 million for Emil Krafth, but Amiens are expected to ask for more than double that amount before they agree to sell the right-back this summer.

Steve Bruce is looking to strengthen his right-back options ahead of the new Premier League season, and it appears that the Sweden international is the target that he wants to get through the St James’ Park door.

The Sun reports however, that a disagreement over a potential fee is on the cards. Amiens only signed Krafth on a permanent basis earlier in the summer after having the 24-year-old on loan last season, and they paid £2 million to land him.

Unsurprisingly therefore, they are not keen to let Newcastle sign Krafth for just £1 million, with The Sun reporting that the Ligue 1 side want to make some sort of profit on the youngster.

It is not exactly clear what Amiens are demanding for Krafth, but it appears that the two clubs are not too far apart in their respective valuations of the full-back. So if he finds himself right near the top of Bruce’s list of targets, it would be no surprise if the two teams manage to agree a deal before the transfer deadline passes.

It is not a deal that is going to capture the imagination of the Toon Army, but, if Newcastle manage to reach an agreement, Bruce will be hoping that Krafth will prove to be a very shrewd signing for the Magpies this summer.
