According to Estadio Deportivo, Newcastle are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

What’s the story?

Well, the Spanish news outlet’s report mainly discusses how Real Betis are afraid of Newcastle signing their No.8 – Nabil Fekir.

However, Estadio Deportivo also mention three other names who are believed to be in the sights of Newcastle’s new owners.

One is Philippe Coutinho, who SPORT also believe the Magpies are targeting following the arrival of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.

Another is PSG striker Mauro Icardi, who Calciomercato also view as a target for Newcastle.

However, Navas is a fresh target to emerge, and a very interesting one too.

It’s like Newcastle are playing their very own game of FIFA!

Would Keylor Navas be a good signing for Newcastle?

In our view, this would be a phenomenal signing by Newcastle.

Navas made his name at the 2014 World Cup with Costa Rica, before Real Madrid came calling and signed him in a £7.9m deal from Levante.

The 93-cap Costa Rica international won the Champions League three times with Real Madrid, before PSG signed him.

It speaks volumes that two European giants have trusted Navas to stand in between the sticks for them.

Lionel Messi is also a huge fan.

It was even said that the Argentine’s influence in Paris was keeping Navas in the PSG starting XI ahead of Gianluigi Donnarumma, who won Player of the Tournament at EURO 2020.

Throughout his career, the 34-year-old has made 433 appearances, conceding 419 goals while keeping 157 clean sheets.

Navas is an excellent glovesman, who absolutely dwarfs both Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow in terms of ability.
