According to RMC Sport, Newcastle United could move for Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile once their takeover goes through.

The £300million deal involving the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund, Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers still looks close, but has been dragging on.

Fans will hope for an end to the saga soon, but players continue to be linked with moves to Tyneside this summer.

Another name can be added in Badiashile. It’s claimed that Newcastle are interested in the Frenchman, but only in the event of a takeover.

The Magpies seemingly feel that they couldn’t sign the teenager if they don’t have this new financial backing.

Lyon, Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen also want Badiashile, with an exit from Monaco suddenly looking possible this summer.

The 19-year-old has been on the Monaco books since 2016, and already has more than 40 first-team appearances to his name.

Standing at a huge 6ft 4in tall, Badiashile is a dominant force whilst also possessing the ability to play out from the back, offering balance as a left-footed defender.

He may not be a big name, but Badiashile has big potential for the future – and could be a sensible investment for Newcastle’s new era.
