Newcastle United will complete the signing of Rob Holding from Arsenal this week, according to talkSPORT.

It has been reported that Arsenal have agreed to send the 24-year-old central defender to Premier League rivals Newcastle on loan.

Good signing for Newcastle United?

Holding is a very good central defender who will give Newcastle manager Steve Bruce a valuable option at the back.

Jamaal Lascelles is still recovering from an ankle injury, according to talkSPORT, and the Magpies could do with another player who is a centre-back by trade.

Holding has been on the books of Arsenal since 2016, but the Englishman has had injury problems and has struggled to establish himself as a regular in the starting lineup.

During the 2019-20 campaign, Holding made six starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners, according to WhoScored.

The 24-year-old also played thrice in the Europa League, scored one goal in two EFL Cup appearances, and made two starts and three substitute appearances in the FA Cup for the North London outfit last season, according to WhoScored.
