Newcastle United are in competition with West Ham United for the signature of Manchester City’s Yaya Toure.
According to a report in The Sun, Newcastle United are interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.
Newcastle are said to be tracking Toure, as they look to close on what would surely be one of the most exciting transfer deals of the summer for the St. James’ Park crowd.
Toure’s future at City is in doubt, as he is thinking about turning down a contract extension at the Etihad Stadium.

The Ivorian realises that his first-team chances could be limited if he stays with City, and he wants to play regular football.
Newcastle would be prepared to offer him that, but Toure would have to take a wage drop, if the move was to come off.
It is said that Toure is prepared to reduce his salary, if the right move comes about.

The 33-year-old wants to finish his career the Premier League, and is apparently excited by the prospect of a new challenge.
If Newcastle do make a move for Toure, they will reportedly be in competition with the likes of West Ham United and Crystal Palace for his signature.
