Morgan, who started his professional club football career at Nottingham Forest, was a key figure in Leicester’s Premier League title-winning campaign in 2015-16.
While the Jamaica international defender has a lot of experience, given his age, the centre-back would not be a great long-term signing for the Magpies.
Perhaps it would be best for Newcastle if they look at younger defenders, if indeed Benitez wants to reinforce his defensive department. Newcastle should be aiming to finish in the top 10 of the Premier League next season.
