According to The Times, Newcastle United want over £50 million as transfer fee for Sean Longstaff amid interest from Manchester United.

It has been reported that United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bring to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle, though, are looking for over £50m for the 21-year-old midfielder, and the Red Devils are shocked by the valuation and are considering ending their interest, according to the report.

Smart move from Newcastle United

Longstaff is a very talented and promising young midfielder, but the 21-year-old has made a handful of appearances for the Newcastle first team.

The Englishman is certainly not worth £50m, but Newcastle are being smart in reportedly asking that amount.

The Magpies do not actually have to sell Longstaff, and they know that United have money and can afford to pay £50m for the midfielder.

Newcastle are in a win-win position, and it is now up to United to decide what they want to do now regarding Longstaff.
