The Spaniard got them promoted as champions at the first attempt after their shock relegation and having shifted the dead weight from the squad, Newcastle are arguably in a better position than had they survived.
Owner Mike Ashley has pledged to allow Benitez to spend every penny the club generates, setting up an exciting transfer window for the Toon.

The Times report the club are planning to target loan deals as well as permanent moves.

Benitez has fantastic contacts from his years in the game, and Newcastle are an attractive club in terms of both it’s size and direction.
The Star reported last week that Newcastle are keen on signing prolific Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham on loan, and even just for a season, he would be a fantastic addition who would help them push for a top 10 place in the Premier League.
