Arsenal’s Isaac Hayden is closing in on a move to Newcastle United.

According to Sky Sports (live transfer thread, July 9th at 09:29), Arsenal’s Isaac Hayden is set to sign a five-year deal with Newcastle United as a move to St. James’ Park nears.
A recent report in the Shields Gazette accredited the Magpies with an interest in the youngster and suggested a medical will take place this weekend, and now it appears a contract has been agreed.
Hayden is an Arsenal youth academy graduate and came through the ranks before moving to Hull City on loan last summer, making 18 Championship appearances for the Tigers.

It was suggested that Hull may go in for him again this summer following their promotion to the Premier League, yet there has been very little transfer activity at the KC Stadium so far.
Newcastle, looking to make an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation, have on the other hand been busy in the transfer market having brought in four new players already.
The pick of the bunch are attacking duo Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie, and now it seems boss Rafa benitez is looking to strengthen his defensive ranks as he plots the addition of Hayden.

The 21-year-old is capable of featuring both at centre-back and as a holding midfielder, and his impressive performances as a youngster earned him international recognition with England’s youth sides.
The Magpies see him as a long-term investment which is illustrated by the reported five-year contract on offer, and fr Hayden a move to Tyneside represents a decent career choice with options limited in North London.
