Portugal’s William Carvalho and Sweden’s Oscar Lewicki in action
Carvalho is a defensive midfielder who has been highly regarded over the past four seasons and linked with clubs across Europe.
Only Sporting’s high asking price has led to him remaining at the club, but at 25 he risks missing his window of opportunity if he does not move on this summer.
Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Semedo in action against Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Semedo, 23, plays as a centre-back and was a regular for Sporting last season.
He signed a new contract earlier this season putting Sporting in charge of his future, and The Sun report Everton and Southampton are both admirers of him.
Both Carvalho and Semedo have Champions League experience and if Newcastle could lure the pair it would strengthen the spine of their team and show the Premier League they mean business upon their return to the top flight.
