Newcastle United want Harvey Barnes and the Leicester City winger is keen to move on at the end of the season.
That is according to a report from 90Min, who claim that Newcastle are eyeing a big move for Barnes.
It’s stated that Barnes is now ready to move on from Leicester in an attempt to further his career.
Barnes allegedly believes that he is good enough to be playing for England and wants to be in the Euro 2024 squad.
The winger seemingly feels that he needs to leave Leicester to make that happen and this summer could be his time to go.
Barnes is approaching the final two years of his contract with the Foxes.
There appears to be little chance of Barnes signing an extension right now and Leicester may need to sell before his value drops.
Add in that Leicester could be playing Championship football next season and this may be the right time for Barnes to take the next step.

Newcastle could add a star in Harvey Barnes
Newcastle seem very keen on adding another winger this summer.
The Magpies signed Anthony Gordon in January and already have the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy.
Barnes appears to be a key target whilst there have been links to Moussa Diaby and Wilfried Zaha.
All three are very different wingers and much will depend on fees and wages as Newcastle decide who to target.
Barnes has the Premier League experience that Eddie Howe appears to like whilst still having untapped potential at just 25.
Barnes has been prolific this season with 10 goals in 28 Premier League games and his direct style may appeal to Howe.
Hailed as an ‘unbelievable player’ by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, Barnes is a huge talent and many Premier League clubs will be interested.
Newcastle appear to be at the front of the queue though and amid strong links to James Maddison, it could be his Foxes teammate Barnes who joins the Magpies instead.
