Newcastle United midfielder apparently wants to sign a new contract, despite knowing of West Ham United’s interest in him.

Shelvey hasn’t been a permanent inclusion in Newcastle’s team this season, but he does feel settled with the Magpies.
The central midfielder showed his quality last weekend, as he helped Newcastle beat West Ham 3-2.
Shelvey scored and claimed an assist at the London Stadium, which was a reminder of his quality to West Ham, who have previously tried to sign him.
Shelvey knows that West Ham rate him, but it is suggested that he wants to extend his stay at Newcastle.

Bruce’s side are hoping to tie down Shelvey’s future sooner rather than later, with the midfielder said to be keen to pen a new contract.
Shelvey was linked with £20 million move to West Ham in the summer (The Sun), but if he does put pen to paper on a new Newcastle deal, it will surely end the Hammers’ interest once and for all.
