Newcastle are competing to sign Orestis Karnezis from Udinese.

Newcastle United have made an offer to sign goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Karnezis, 32, plays for Udinese and has been capped 42 times by Greece.

Despite Newcastle’s offer, they could lose out on the veteran to Rafa Benitez’s former club Napoli.

It is claimed that Napoli are Karnezis’s first choice, although their plans are unclear as they are also keen on Real Sociedad goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.
