Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini has expressed a desire to return to Argentina.
According to a report in the Northern Echo, Newcastle United are doing all they can to help Fabricio Coloccini get the move back to Argentina that he wants this summer.
Coloccini expressed a desire to return to his homeland earlier this week, with the experienced centre-back wanting to bring to an end his time at St. James’ Park.
Coloccini has been with Newcastle since 2008, and the North East club are not wanting to stand in the 34-year-old’s way – as he looks to move.
Rafael Benitez has been told that he does not have to sell any of Newcastle’s top players, but he is willing to sanction a deal to allow Coloccini to leave.
Coloccini has shown signs of his age during this past campaign, and he was forced out of the team.
The likes of Chancel Mbema and Jamaal Lascelles both appear to be ahead of him in the pecking order.
Newcastle are now looking to move Coloccini on, but the Northern Echo say that they won’t allow him to leave too cheaply – as they want to get a deal which benefits both parties.
