Newcastle United are expected to make a number of changes to their team during the summer transfer window.

According to a report in the Chronicle, it is likely that Newcastle United defender Grant Hanley will be sold to a Championship club this summer.
Hanley was only brought to Newcastle at the start of the season, but he has failed to impress during his time at St. James’ Park.
The powerful centre-back has never forced his way into Newcastle’s starting line-up over a sustained period of time.

And, with Rafael Benitez looking to buy a centre-back in the upcoming transfer window, Hanley could depart.
Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Chancel Mbemba are all ahead of Hanley in the pecking order at Newcastle already.

With a new defender due to arrive, Hanley is unlikely to receive much game time next season, and Benitez is now expected to part ways with the Scotland international.
Hanley has previously impressed at Championship level, so Newcastle will hope that finding a buyer is not too challenging.
