Newcastle United may be about to add another goalkeeper to their ranks.

Newcastle United ‘lead the race’ to sign goalkeeper Karlo Letica, according to the Sun on Sunday (April 29th, page 60).
However, it is claimed that a deal could depend on whether or not Newcastle have the funds to strengthen beyond their first XI, with manager Rafa Benitez not convinced that Letica is ready for first team football at Premier League level.
And that in turn could cause issues for the 21-year-old, who is said to want regular action if he is to leave current employers Hajduk Split.
Letica, who is reportedly valued at £8 million, has already ‘snubbed the advances’ of Manchester United and Real Madrid, according to the Sun on Sunday.

The report suggests one solution would be the possibility of a loan to a Championship club, the type of move from which Newcastle’s Aleksandar Mitrovic has profited significantly this season.
Newcastle already have goalkeepers Martin Dubravka, Rob Elliot, Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman on their books, however, it is unclear if a permanent deal for Dubravka will go ahead this summer.
