Newcastle United could bring Andy Carroll back to St. James’ Park in September.

According to the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United are still considering moving for Andy Carroll.
Newcastle won’t sign Carroll this month, but they could opt to bring him back to St. James’ Park in September, if he can prove his fitness.
Newcastle are free to bring in Carroll after the transfer deadline as he is currently not contracted to a club.
The Magpies are keen to do a deal, but they want Carroll to prove his fitness first.
The target-man is currently injured and has struggled badly to stay off the treatment table in recent years.
If Newcastle are convinced that Carroll is fit enough to pass a medical they will apparently then make a move to bring him to St. James’ Park.

Carroll is likely to be used in a back-up role at Newcastle if he does sign, as Steve Bruce’s side have already brought in Joelinton for big money this summer.
If Carroll can stay fit then he could be an inspired addition to Bruce’s squad, as his aerial ability makes him a dangerous impact substitute.
However, the fear is that Carroll’s injury problems will persist and Newcastle will never get the best out of him, like they did during his first spell with the club.
