Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has attracted the interests of West Ham United.
Shelvey has been interesting Shelvey throughout the transfer window, and the Express now claim that the move is edging closer.
West Ham made their bid for Shelvey over a fortnight ago, and Newcastle have been mulling it over ever since.
Rafael Benitez initially wasn’t given many funds to spend this month, and there were concerns that no replacement would be brought to St. James’ Park if the midfielder was sold.
However, Mike Ashley has given Benitez some money to spend now, and it seems that West Ham could get their man in the near future.
Shelvey has not entirely convinced at Newcastle this season, with the midfielder’s indiscipline being a frustration.
If Shelvey does move on, Newcastle will almost certainly have to spend to bring in another central midfielder.
