Newcastle United want Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez, but West Bromwich Albion are also interested.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Newcastle United will make a move for Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez in the summer transfer window.
Rodriguez has reportedly grown frustrated at Southampton, due to a lack of first-team football.
After battling back from injury, Rodriguez has struggled to nail down a place in Claude Puel’s line-up.
The former Burnley forward has made just eight Premier League starts for the Saints this season, and has hit four goals.

Newcastle believe they can get Rodriguez back to his best though, and will try to bring him to St. James’ Park.
Newcastle are already planning for life back in the Premier League, with their promotion now looking set to be confirmed in the near future.
The Magpies could even secure promotion this evening, if they beat Preston North End.

Benitez is believed to have funds to spend in the summer, and Rodriguez is on his wishlist.
Newcastle will have competition from West Bromwich Albion for the striker’s signature though, with Tony Pulis also thought to be an admirer.
