Newcastle United are set to take on Leeds United at Elland Road this weekend.
According to a report in the Chronicle, Newcastle United are interested in signing both Ronaldo Vieira and Charlie Taylor from Leeds United.
Newcastle reportedly have money to spend in the January transfer window, with Rafael Benitez keen to strengthen his side.
Newcastle are trying to build a squad which will be capable of playing in the Premier League, and Leeds duo Vieira and Taylor are both said to be on their radar.
Taylor’s contract at Leeds is due to expire at the end of the season, meaning January will be the last month where they can negotiate a fee for the left-back.
Leeds have previously suggested that they will keep hold of Taylor, but interest is rising in the defender with West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United also keen.
Vieira, meanwhile, looks to be one of the most promising youngsters to come through at Elland Road in recent memory.
Vieira is only 17, but is already playing a key role in Leeds’ starting line-up. Garry Monk is likely to be determined to keep hold of the prospect, but Newcastle believe that a deal is possible.
Newcastle will have a chance to assess the duo first-hand this weekend, when they meet Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday.
