Newcastle United reportedly want to sign former Sunderland loanee Ki Sung-yueng, who is leaving Swansea City this summer.

It has been reported that Newcastle want to secure the services of Ki on a free transfer following his departure from Swansea City.
Love Island World Cup: If EVERY contestant were an England player
The Magpies have reportedly held discussions with the former Celtic star, who spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Newcastle’s bitter rivals Sunderland from Swansea.

Reported Everton interest
Newcastle are not the only Premier League club who are reported to be interested in signing Ki this summer.
Back in April, Sky Sports claimed that Everton want to secure the services of the South Korea international midfielder in the summer transfer window.

Good signing for Newcastle United?
Ki has proved himself in the Premier League, and the South Korea international midfielder would be a good and bargain signing for Newcastle, as he would be a free agent and has extensive experience in the Premier League.
However, it will be interesting to see Newcastle fans’ reception should manager Rafael Benitez bring the 29-year-old to St. James’ Park given that he played for their bitter rivals Sunderland on a loan deal in 2013-14.
According to The Chronicle, Swansea paid Celtic £6 million in transfer fees for Ki in 2012.
