Newcastle United reportedly want to sign Filip Helander from Bologna in the January transfer window.

It has been reported that Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has been impressed by reports he has received about the performances of Helander in Serie A.
It has been claimed that if Newcastle owner Mike Ashley decides to release funds in the January transfer window, then the 25-year-old defender will be at the top of Benitez’s transfer list.
Good defender
Helander is a good defender who has done well in Serie A, and Newcastle could do with someone of his experience at the back during the second half of the season.
The 25-year-old has played five times for the Sweden national football team, and the former Malmo and Verona star can only get better in the coming years.

According to the CIES Football Observatory, the value of the defender is €8.8 million (£7.85m), and that should be within reach of Newcastle, who are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and are real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
