Report: Newcastle United inform Oguzhan Ozyakup of their interest

Newcastle United are said to be in contact with the Turkish international, who could be available on a free transfer.

According to a report in Turkish Football, Newcastle United have already made contact with Besiktas over signing Oguzhan Ozyakup.

Newcastle have had their eye on Ozyakup throughout the season, and have reportedly let his representatives know of their interest.

The Turkish international could be available on a free transfer, with his current contract coming to an end at the end of the term.

Besiktas are believed to be confident that they can tie Ozyakup’s future down, but no deal is yet to be formally announced.

Ozyakup is renowned for his tireless work-rate and excellent dribbling skills.

He would offer Newcastle a great deal of creativity, and could play in either central midfielder or behind the striker, where Ayoze Perez has generally been selected this term.

Newcastle may have competition if they do try to sign Ozyakup this summer, as Everton are also believed to be interested in capturing the 32-cap Turkish international, according to the same report.
