Newcastle United eyeing a move for Dimitar Berbatov.

According to reports from the Nottingham Post, Championship club Newcastle United are currently in talks to sign former Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov.
While Newcastle are likely to lose key players such as Georginio Wijnaldum, Moussa Sissoko and Tim Krul this summer, they have shown a lot of ambition in the transfer market and look set to secure the services of the duo of Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle.

Having already signed goalkeeper Matz Sels from Gent, Newcastle’s spending will reach in excess of £25 million once they complete the prospective deals for Ritchie and Gayle.
Despite such big money transfers on the cards, manager Rafael Benitez is far from being done with his activity in the transfer market and now according to reports from the Nottingham Post, claims have been made that Newcastle are currently considering a move for former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.

Berbatov is currently a free agent after being released by Greek side PAOK at the end of last season and the 35-year-old could now be set for a dramatic return to England by joining Newcastle United after reportedly having held talks with the Championship side.
Despite his advancing years, Berbatov would be the kind of signing that surely would lift the fans at St. James’ Park and he could well be a good recruit for the Magpies on a short team deal.
