Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Real Betis defender Riza Durmisi.

Newcastle United are close to signing Javier Manquillo and Jacob Murphy – the deals could be announced as early as within this week.

These two arrivals will take the total signings to four this summer, but Rafael Benitez is looking to add more new faces ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

According to reports from The Northern Echo, Benitez has been using his La Liga link to make contact with Real Betis for Denmark left-back Riza Durmisi.

The 23-year-old joined Betis in 2016 for a paltry fee of £1.7 million from Brondby, and made 27 La Liga appearances last season. He has also 15 international caps to his name.

However, after signing a five-year deal with the La Liga club, he now has a buy-out clause of just under £18 million. The report claims that Newcastle have discussed a £10 million offer for the left-back.

Liverpool interested in Durmisi

According to Estadio Deportivo, Liverpool are also showing an interest in the Betis defender. The Reds have made contacts with the club already.

Signing a left-back is a priority for Jurgen Klopp but with the Reds closing in on Hull City’s Andy Robertson, it remains to be seen whether they show any concrete effort to sign Durmisi in the coming days.
