It looks as if Newcastle United missed out on another player in the summer window with reports in Turkey stating Gala refused to sell Garry Rodrigues.

The transfer window may have shut a week ago but details continue to emerge that will only add to Newcastle United’s frustration.
The Magpies’ failure to land a number of Rafael Benitez’s top targets, including a goalkeeper, left-back and centre-forward, have allegedly struck up a fair bit of tension on Tyneside.

The report claims that Newcastle made a bid of around £6 million for the Cape Verde international, who only moved to the Istanbul giants in January of this year after an impressive run of form for Greek side PAOK.
However, Galatasaray’s president, Dursun Ozbek, agreed with head coach Igor Tudor that the 26-year-old Rodrigues would not be sold as he forms a vital part of the club’s plans going forward – particularly after they lost star winger Bruma to RB Leipzig in the summer.

Rodrigues, who has featured 24 times for Cape Verde, has enjoyed an impressive start to the season in the Turkish Super Lig, setting up two goals in his first three games to help secure victories over Osmanlispor and Kayserispor.
The right-sided attacker would have added extra depth to Newcastle’s attack, which is rather light on that particular flank.
While Benitez has Christian Atsu, Jacob Murphy and Matt Ritchie to choose from on the left, the latter is the only one of the three who has featured on the right with any regularity.
