Newcastle United are tracking talented French winger Yann Karamoh, report L’Equipe.

Karamoh plays for Ligue 1 side Caen, who are keen to cash in this summer on the 18-year-old.

Karamoh has only one year left on his current contract and Caen do not wish to risk losing him for nothing next summer, L’Equipe report.

The teenager is already a regular in Caen’s first team, making 35 league appearances and scoring five goals, while contributing four assists.

Karamoh was born in the Ivory Coast but has dual citizenship with France and has represented Les Bleus at youth level.

He has played at every level from the under-16s to under-19 and has been called into the under-21 squad although is yet to feature.

Newcastle will not have it all their own way though, with Ligue 1 champions Monaco also monitoring the talented winger.

Given their recent track record of identifying and nurturing young talent, Newcastle should be encouraged that they are looking at the same player – now it is up to the Toon to push through their interest into something more substantial.
