The report claims Newcastle United are hopeful of concluding an £18 million deal for Nicolai Jorgensen.

Newcastle United could trigger Fabian Ruiz’s £13 million release clause, according to the Sun [page 59, Friday printed edition].
El Confidencial reported earlier this week that Newcastle have joined Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Everton in taking an interest in Ruiz.

The Spanish playmaker has impressed for Real Betis this season, scoring two goals and creating as many in 17 appearances.
And according to Estadio Deportivo, the Seville side are looking to increase Ruiz’s release clause to £35 million.

Newcastle are not thought to be awash with cash, however, and could struggle to afford him either way – especially with the Sun‘s report adding that they are ‘hopeful of striking a club-record £18 million deal’ for Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen ‘within the next 48 hours’.
Ruiz, a Spain Under-21 international, is in his first full season at Betis, who loaned him to Elche in the country’s Seguna Division last season.
