Newcastle United are eager to sign Pepe Reina from Napoli this summer.

According to a report in the Northern Echo, Newcastle United could sign Pepe Reina from Napoli for just £4 million this summer.
Newcastle have made signing a new goalkeeper one of their top priorities in the upcoming transfer window.
Rafael Benitez is keen to improve his options in goal, as he has doubts over every one of his current custodians.

Karl Darlow, Matz Sels and Tim Krul are all set to be sold – leaving Newcastle looking for a new number one.
And Reina is believed to be at the top of Benitez’s wishlist, as he has worked with the Spaniard before.
Benitez has managed Reina at both Napoli and Liverpool earlier in their respective careers.

And he is now keen on a reunion at St. James’ Park, with Reina looking for a way out of Napoli.
Reina only has a year left on his deal with the Italian side, meaning Newcastle are optimistic of completing the deal at a cut-price of just £4 million.
And, if Newcastle could snap Reina up for that price it would surely have to go down as one of the best buys of the summer, given Reina’s quality and experience.
