Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez left Kenedy out of his latest squad.
Kenedy was left out of Newcastle’s squad which travelling to Vicarage Road at the weekend, with the Brazilian out of sorts.
And the Mail now suggest that Newcastle may look to cut the winger from their squad entirely in January.
If Newcastle did let Kenedy go they would be able to bring in another domestic loan in January.
The Magpies may be forced to dip into the loan market, as Benitez is expected to have limited funds to spend next month.
And with Kenedy not performing particularly well this season, it is suggested that Benitez could now have decided to let him go.
The report has surfaced just days after the Newcastle boss insisted that the plan was to keep Kenedy.
“It is true that he is not playing at the level of last year, and sometimes players have confidence when they are doing things,” Benitez said to the Chronicle last week.
“He told me the other day that he knew he was not playing well and these mistakes mean that he loses a bit of confidence.
“We tried to explain to him that the only way to change that is to carry on, and hopefully he will do that. He will stay; at the moment, I think so.”
In Kenedy’s absence, Newcastle picked up a 1-1 draw against Watford, and Benitez’s side put in a credible performance.
Newcastle’s next match comes against Manchester United on Wednesday.
