Newcastle United have reportedly held tentative talks with a number of buyers.
According to a report in the Guardian, Newcastle United could be the subject over a takeover bid in the coming weeks.
Newcastle’s promotion to the Premier League was confirmed on Monday evening, when they beat Preston North End 4-1.
Mike Ashley has already been planning to spend at St. James’ Park, following the Magpies return to the top tier.

But there have reportedly been tentative talks about a takeover at Newcastle in recent times.
A number of interested parties have announced their intentions to bid for the North East club, and a deal is possible.
The Guardian say that if Newcastle is sold it is likely to be a swift takeover, rather than a protracted bid.
One potential buyer is claimed to be Qatar, who feel as if Newcastle could be a good investment.

Sections of Newcastle fans have been calling for a takeover for some time, although the anger directed towards owner Ashley is not quite as strong as it was at one point.
Ashley is said to want a high price for Newcastle, but that won’t necessarily put potential buyers off.
