Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is said to be keen to bring in the Liverpool pair in January.

According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is already making plans for January and he has asked about taking both Liverpool’s Divock Origi and Dominic Solanke.

Newcastle are eager to improve their striking options, and Benitez has his eyes on additions.

The Spanish boss is said to have made most top clubs aware of Newcastle need for additions, as he wants the heads up on players who could be available.

And Benitez has contacted Liverpool about taking Origi or Solanke.

Newcastle are unable to loan any more players from English clubs this season, but could be open to a permanent deal if Liverpool want to do business.

It is still not clear whether Newcastle will have enough money to buy either of the Liverpool pair, but they could prove to be options, if Mike Ashley provides funds.

Solanke and Origi have struggled for game time this season, and could fit in well at Newcastle.
