Newcastle United are looking for a replacement for Steve Bruce, and ex-Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is said to be on their radar.

Newcastle parted company with Rafael Benitez today, leaving their fans fuming, and they are already assessing their options.
The Magpies are now looking at potential replacements for Benitez, and it is said that Wednesday boss Bruce is one of the names under consideration, despite his links to Sunderland.
Bruce did an impressive job after taking over at Wednesday, and would be an experienced pair of hands to take over at Newcastle.
However, it would be very difficult not to feel that Newcastle were making a downgrade if they were to go after the 58-year-old.

Bruce, who managed Sunderland at the Stadium of Light between 2009 and 2011, may have a great deal of experience, but his track record rather pales in comparison to Benitez’s.
Newcastle were always likely to struggle to find a replacement for Benitez that would appease their supporters as the Spaniard is so popular.
But if Bruce was selected as Benitez’s replacement then the frustrations at St. James’ Park could grow even further.
