It is claimed the Crystal Palace left-back could become a permanent Newcastle United player in the summer.

Newcastle United are closing in on a deal to sign Crystal Palace left-back Pape Souare on loan, the Sun reports (page 52 of Monday’s printed edition).
It is claimed that Palace boss Roy Hodgson is happy for Souare to get game time elsewhere, having used him on just three occasions this season – each as a substitute.

The Eagles already have Jeffrey Schlupp, Patrick van Aanholt and Jairo Riedewald capable of playing in the Senegal international’s position.
And the report states a permanent move to Newcastle could be on the cards for Souare in the summer, if all three parties are satisfied.

Newcastle are set to miss out on another of their left-back targets, Kenedy, with Chelsea increasingly inclined to keep him, according to the Northern Echo.
Souare joined Crystal Palace from Lille in January 2015 but missed almost the entirety of last season after being involved in a serious car crash.
Would Crystal Palace’s Souare be a good signing for Newcastle United?
