Newcastle United are expected to complete the signing of Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea.

According to a report in the Chronicle, Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez personally met with Tammy Abraham to convince him to move to St. James’ Park.
Newcastle have been in competition with Brighton & Hove Albion for the Chelsea striker’s signature, and they appear to have won the race.
The key reason why Abraham has picked a move to St. James’ Park over the south coast is because of Benitez.

The Spanish boss met with Abraham to ensure him that he would be given regular game time at Newcastle.
Abraham is set to be in competition with Dwight Gayle on Tyneside for a place up-front.

Newcastle have tended to operate with one striker since Benitez has been in charge, but Abraham is likely to be given plenty of chances in Benitez’s first-team.
Abraham hit 26 goals for Bristol City in the Championship over this past campaign, and Benitez believes the youngster is ready to make the step up to the top tier now.
