Newcastle United have taken Salomon Rondon on loan from West Bromwich Albion for the season.

Rondon has joined Newcastle on loan from West Bromwich Albion, and Benitez is urging Mike Ashley to make the deal a longer term one.
West Brom want £16 million for Rondon, but Newcastle’s board are said to be reluctant to pay the fee.
The Star now claim that the transfer of Rondon could be crucial in keeping Benitez at St. James’ Park.

The Spaniard has not penned a new contract at Newcastle because he wants assurances that he will be given more money to spend in the transfer window.
And if he is not backed to sign Rondon then Benitez reportedly may walk away from Newcastle.
Ashley, though, is still said to be ‘confident’ that he can convince Benitez to stay with the Magpies and pen a deal that will keep him at the club for the long-term.
