Newcastle United have bid for the Belgian midfielder, according to a report in Italy.
According to Il Secolo XI, Newcastle United have lodged a bid for Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet.
Calciomercato reported on Friday that Newcastle were considering an offer for the one-time Belgium international, but Il Secolo XI claimed on Saturday that Magpies boss Rafael Benitez has now officially moved for him.

The 23-year-old, who managed one goal and one assist in 32 Serie A games last season, is also the subject of interest from a Russian club and Marseille, according to the Italian outlet.
The report goes on to state that bids of around £12.8 million have been submitted so far, though Sampdoria are not keen on doing business.
Newcastle have brought in six players this summer – five of whom have been recruited on permanent deals, while Mikel Merino joined on loan – but Benitez probably needs more firepower in the final third if United are to enjoy a strong return to the top flight.
The St James’s Park club, who lost 2-0 to Tottenham last weekend, face fellow newly-promoted outfit Huddersfield in Yorkshire this afternoon.
