Newcastle United are the latest club linked with Stefano Sturaro following reported interest from Everton, Stoke City and Crystal Palace.

If Stefano Sturaro was struggling to find a regular role in Juventus’ midfield, the signing of French international Blaise Matuidi from PSG did not help his cause.
Sturaro started just 11 Serie A games last season as he fell down the pecking order under Max Allegri, so it’s little surprise that Tuttosport is reporting that they will let him follow Mario Lemina out of the club this summer for a fee of around £18.5 million.
Though there is no shortage of interest from the Premier League, where Lemina will ply his trade after joining Southampton. The report claims that Everton and Crystal Palace are admirers of Italian international Sturaro.

And Gazzetta Dello Sport (24th August, page 17) added two more names into the frame by claiming that both Stoke City and Newcastle United are interested.
Sturaro would certainly be an excellent addition for Newcastle and would represent an immediate improvement to their starting XI. After all, The Magpies’ midfield looked a little lacking in quality during the first two games of the season, both of which Newcastle lost to Tottenham and Huddersfield.

Dortmund loanee Mikel Merino has plenty of quality in his left boot but it was his lack of defensive awareness which allowed Aaron Mooy free to score the winner for Huddersfield on Sunday.
Furthermore, Jonjo Shelvey’s petulant red card against Spurs could hardly have been timed worse with Jack Colback told he can leave Newcastle, per The Mail.
Therefore, Sturaro would be a welcome addition, blessed with energy, tenacity and a winning mentality on the back of three trophy laden years with Juve.
