Newcastle United and Sunderland are both said to be tracking Bristol City defender Aden Flint.

According to a report in the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United want to sign Aden Flint from Bristol City.
Newcastle are making progress, as Rafael Benitez assembles a squad which he feels is capable of achieving promotion from the Championship.
The Magpies have already made three signings this summer – with Matz Sels, Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle all joining the St. James’ Park club.

Newcastle are not intending to stop there, however, with Rafael Benitez confirming that his side are on the verge of clinching more deals to the Shields Gazette earlier today.
Newcastle are believed to be closing on sealing a deal for Jesus Gamez, and it is believed that Flint could follow him to Tyneside.
Flint was a key player for Bristol City last season, where his robust performances stood out.

Flint has also developed a reputation as a goalscoring centre-back – and he has netted 21 times in the last two seasons.
City are keen to keep hold of the powerful centre-back, but interest is rising in his services.
As well as Newcastle, Sunderland are also said to be tracking Flint, and they could make a move if Newcastle step up their interest.
