Newcastle United have set their sights on signing Jannik Vestergaard, report Tuttomercatoweb.
Vestergaard is a centre-back who plays for German side Werder Bremen, who can also play in defensive midfield.
The 23-year-old three international caps for Denmark, and captained his country at under-21 level.

The defender is physically imposing, standing a 6ft 6″ tall, but signing him will not be easy.
After beginning his career at Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, he signed with Werder Bremen only this January for £1.75 million, and so it will be tough for Newcastle to prise him away so soon.
UEFA.com reported earlier this summer how Vestergaard grew up supporting Real Madrid, and planned for a career as a lawyer in case his football did not take off.
He would be a certain upgrade on Mike Williamson at Newcastle, but persuarding Bremen to do a deal won’t be easy. Yet if they can offer the German club a chance to turn a good profit on a player they signed just months ago, there could still be a glimmer of hope.
