Newcastle United are reportedly interested in the forward but they are currently unwilling to match Arsenal’s asking price.
According to the London Evening Standard, Newcastle United have been told to pay £13.4million for Arsenal’s Lucas Perez but are not prepared to go that high.
The report claims the Magpies initially made their interest known last week and would prefer to take the 28-year-old on loan for the upcoming campaign.

However, it seems the striker is more likely to leave in a permanent deal, with Deportivo La Coruna already submitting a £9million bid.
Arsenal are said to be holding out for just over £4million more for a player they signed for £17million only to rarely use him when it really mattered.
Newcastle could do with another goal-scorer as they prepare for their return to the top flight and if he played week in, week out at St. James’ Park he could rediscover his best form and quickly become a fan favourite for Rafa Benitez’s side.
The problem is the Spaniard has already gone on record this summer to question the fees being paid in the current market and he is unlikely to fork out a hefty sum for a player approaching his thirties.
Only time will tell how this one plays out but Newcastle know how much Lucas will cost and it is up to them to either pay or look elsewhere.
